MArta kaj JOmo kantas MAYOMA -n (MArta and JOmo sing MAYOMA)
This six-track EP is a typically Esperantist collaboration between songwriter MAYOMA, who lives in Kinshasa, Congo, and musicians-singers from Toulouse, France.
Eleven years ago, Mayoma and jOmO collaborated for Vinilkosmo’s EP Majoma and jOmO afrikumas, but this time Marta, a new young singer, comes to strengthen the team with her beautiful feminine voice and her natural ability to produce vocal harmonies. This musicality certainly comes from her childhood when she heard her father (jOmO himself!) perform and sing at home or on stage.
jOmO plays guitar and bass, sometimes accompanies his daughter on vocals, and Marta sings in several voices all the songs composed by Mayoma. The meeting of the African sensitivity of the author and the European culture of the musicians and singers constitutes the great strength of this extraordinary transcontinental collaboration.
As in the previous album, you can also listen to a composition by jOmO, but this time with only rhythm and voice, in Esperanto and partly in Lingala, the language of the Congo that he is currently learning.
In this album Mayoma is:
Téophile Mayoma Diankembo: author and composer
Marta Juliá: vocals
jOmO: instruments and vocals
Recorded in jOmO's home studio
Mixed and mastered at La Trappe studio at Vinilkosmo (Donneville)
Sound engineer, mixing and mastering: Triboulet
Graphic treatment of the album: Alexis Juliá
Video director: Marta Juliá
